Tower Bridge – June 1st.. Be there to catch the start of something very special indeed. Eight teams will be setting off to attempt rowing non-stop 2,000 miles around the coast of Britain. Aaaargh. Can you imagine the blisters? On your hands. On your bot…no let’s not go there. But they are.
The fastest time ever set is a smidge under 27 days! And to beat that the teams will have to row something around 80 miles a day. Non-stop. 24/7. Yes we know we’ve repeated ourselves, but the thought still makes us wince. Of course there is a little incentive involved
£100k if a team manages to beat the record of 26 days, 21 hours and 14 minutes! And we reckon they’d deserve every penny. But of course they won’t be keeping it because these people are doing it for the challenge and to support a host of charities. And that’s why they deserve your support. So turn out on the 1st June and cheer them off on the way. And if you time it right, you could do it from the deck of one of our boats which is bound to be around and about. See you there!
Oh of course if you miss the start, don’t worry. Check out news of their progress at http://www.gbrowchallenge.com and you could be standing at Tower Bridge when they return in a bit less than a month’s time. Hope they’ll have lots of hand cream waiting for them.
